OVERVIEW
Ultrafiltration (UF) is a membrane filtration process that uses semi-permeable membranes to remove particles, microbes, and macromolecules from water.
UF systems deliver high-quality water with excellent clarity and microbial safety, making them ideal for both pretreatment and standalone applications.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
UF uses pressure-driven membrane technology to separate contaminants based on size exclusion. Water passes through the UF membrane, while suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, and larger molecules are retained.
• Feed Water – Pressurized and sent to UF module
• Filtration – Water passes through membrane pores (0.01 – 0.1 micron)
• Retention – Contaminants are retained on membrane surface
• Backwash – Periodic backwash removes accumulated solids and restores flux
• Treated Water – High quality filtrate collected
